<p>To get shut out in the preseason, even in the important dress-rehearsal third game of the exhibition season, is one thing. But getting embarrassed in all three phases of a game against Miami, 1-15 a year ago, is more than a setback.</p>
<p>The Chiefs seemed to sense as much on a night when the offense managed only 189 yards and no points with four turnovers, the defense was on the field for 10 minutes on Miami's opening drive and special teams gave up a punt return touchdown.</p>

Linebacker Demorrio Williams will likely miss the final two Kansas City Chiefs preseason games with a broken bone in his right hand, but expects to be ready for the Sept. 7 opener at New England. Williams, a free agent who signed a five-year contract in March, suffered the injury in practice Tuesday, but did not learn of the severity until a cast was placed on the hand later.

It wasn't always this way. Rivals once cast envious eyes upon Kansas City's offensive line. Guards Will Shields and Brian Waters and left tackle Willie Roaf all went to the Pro Bowl in 2004 and '05. Many thought center Casey Wiegmann should have joined them.
